This past week, we had the amazing opportunity to visit Nauvoo. It was an incredible experience for the both of us! We had the privilege of attending the beautiful Nauvoo Temple, touring the Visitor’s Center, heading down Parley’s Street, and of course, visiting Carthage Jail. It is undeniably humbling to see the sacrifice first-hand that was made by the Saints that settled there and then left everything behind to head west. A very special Spirit abides there, and we will never forget the feelings we experienced.
Coming out of the temple...
The Nauvoo Temple is absolutely spectacular! As you can see, it was a "picture-perfect" day.
After taking the trip down Parley's Street just as thousands of the Saints did on their way to the Salt Lake Valley, we stopped for a quick picture at the departure point on the Mississippi River. It was incredibly humbling to imagine so many handcarts and covered wagons embarking on their journey from this point and then to realize what has blossomed as a result of their faith!
The Prophet Joseph Smith's Home
Carthage Jail - this is a special place.
The door that led into the room where the martyrdom took place. The hole from the ball that was shot through the door ultimately killing Hyrum Smith is still readily apparent.

Such a cool trip. That would be so amazing to be able to see all of those places in person.
